My cousin Claudia has a gluten intolerance, so over the years I’ve had to adapt a lot of recipes so she can enjoy them too. And honestly? It turned into one of the best things that ever happened to my baking.
After plenty of trial and error, I can proudly say many of our gluten-free desserts now taste even better than the regular versions. So yes, you can thank Claudia for inspiring this whole list, haha! If this is your first time baking for someone who needs to eat gluten-free, don’t worry all the recipes in this list are easy and delicious.
Quick reminder if you’re baking for someone with celiac disease: Always use clean bowls, spatulas, rolling pins, and surfaces. Skip wooden tools and scratched nonstick pans since they can hold gluten residue. A little extra care goes a long way, and it truly matters to the person you’re baking for.
Now let’s dive into the gluten-free desserts that absolutely don’t taste gluten-free… in the best way possible.
1) Italian Almond Orange Cake

This Italian Almond Orange Cake is naturally gluten-free and incredibly simple, moist, and delicious. Just make sure your baking powder is labeled gluten-free, we use Bob’s Red Mill Baking Powder and it works perfectly! It’s bright, fragrant, and beautifully tender, it’s one of those desserts that feels fancy without any extra effort.
2) Delicious Pecan Pie

This pecan pie was one of the very first gluten-free desserts I ever made, and it’s still the one my family craves all year until Thanksgiving. They even joke it’s the only reason they show up, haha!
It has the perfect mix of sweet, salty, and gooey. The best part is that no one can ever tell it’s gluten-free. Both the crust and the filling are naturally gluten-free, and it tastes just as good (if not better) than the classic.
3) 3-Ingredient Keto Cheesecake

Cheesecake has always been one of my favorite desserts, and this 3-ingredient keto version is just as creamy as the classic, but so much lighter and lower in carbs.
Funny enough, we originally made it while testing keto recipes and only later realized it was naturally gluten-free. A total win-win. Top it with fresh fruit and it’s absolutely delicious.
4) Greek Yogurt Cookie Dough

This Greek yogurt cookie dough was another accidental gluten-free creation. It’s high in protein, super delicious, and completely safe to eat raw. It comes together in just minutes and works as both a quick dessert or a sweet snack.
Just make sure you’re using gluten-free chocolate chips; I use Enjoy Life Mini Chocolate Chips and they’re perfect.
5) 4-Ingredient Peanut Butter Balls

These 4-ingredient peanut butter balls are one of the easiest gluten-free treats you can make. It’s quick, no-bake, and perfect for prepping ahead. They’re chocolatey, creamy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious… all with just four simple ingredients.
Just make sure to use gluten-free chocolate, I use Enjoy Life Dark Chocolate Morsels, but the mini chocolate chips work just as well! A total crowd-pleaser every time.
6) Buttermilk Pancakes

Pancakes can absolutely be dessert, I don’t care what anyone says. Just ask my cousin Claudia… she loves these as a dessert!
These naturally gluten-free buttermilk pancakes are soft, fluffy, and lightly tangy, everything you’d want in a classic pancake. Whether you top them with fruit or drizzle them with honey, they turn out perfect every single time. And the best part? They’re ready in just 10 minutes.
7) Chocolate-Covered Caramel Apple Slices

These chocolate-covered caramel apple slices are the perfect sweet, crunchy treat, like a mix between a caramel apple and candy bark. Sweet, chocolatey, crunchy, and so much fun to make.
Just make sure you’re using certified gluten-free ingredients! For the chocolate, I use Enjoy Life Dark Chocolate Morsels, and for the caramel, I love Trader Joe’s Fleur de Sel Caramel Sauce, which is also GF certified. And, instead of sprinkles, I top them with crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or mini marshmallows. They’re all naturally gluten-friendly and great for adding texture and color without any risk.
8) Tiramisu Chia Pudding

This tiramisu chia pudding is one of the creamiest, most flavorful versions you’ll ever try, and it’s super easy to make.
Just replace the biscuits with gluten-free ladyfingers or gluten-free digestive cookies. I use Schär’s Gluten-Free Ladyfingers and they work perfectly. All the cozy tiramisu flavor you love, but naturally gluten-free and so simple to whip up.
9) No-Bake Pumpkin Cookies

These no-bake pumpkin cookies are one of Rita’s quickest (and coziest!) treats ready in just 15 minutes. Soft, chewy, and full of warm pumpkin flavor, they make an amazing dessert… yes, cookies can totally be dessert!
Just be sure to use certified gluten-free ingredients: she uses Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Rolled Oats and Enjoy Life Mini Chocolate Chips. Quick, simple, delicious, and completely gluten-free.
And if this is your first time baking for someone who needs to eat gluten-free, don’t stress! You don’t need special skills or fancy ingredients, just a little extra care.
I was scared the first few times I baked for my cousin, and she’s only intolerant, not allergic… but still, better safe than sorry. It really just takes a bit of attention (and a lot of love), but it’s totally worth it.
Always choose certified gluten-free products and read labels carefully, since a lot of everyday ingredients (like oats, chocolate, baking powder, and flavorings) can hide gluten or be processed on shared equipment.
Hope you love these desserts as much as we do! And remember… gluten isn’t a monster, but cross-contamination can be, so handle it with care and bake with love.
